Weiter geht es mit den Infos über die Gegend. Wir planen an der Neckarquelle vorbei zu fahren.
Der Neckar ist ein Nebenfluss des Rheins in Deutschland von 362 km Länge – mit dem längeren Oberlauf Eschach von 380 km –, der mit seinem annähernd 14.000 km² großen Einzugsgebiet den zentralen Teil Baden-Württembergs entwässert. An seiner Mündung fließen im Mittel 145 m³/s ab. Hydrologisch ist der Neckar damit nach Aare, Maas, Mosel und Main der fünftgrößte Nebenfluss des Rheins und nach Länge wie auch nach Wasserführung der zwölftgrößte Fluss Deutschlands.
Der Neckar entspringt auf der Baar bei Villingen-Schwenningen auf 705 m ü. NN. Zunächst fließt er zwischen Schwarzwald und Schwäbischer Alb nach Nordosten, ab dem „Neckarknie“ bei Plochingen nordwestwärts bis nordwärts durch die Ballungsräume von Stuttgart und Heilbronn, dann ab Eberbach im Odenwald westwärts bis Heidelberg und schließlich in der Oberrheinischen Tiefebene nordwestwärts bis Mannheim. Dort mündet er auf 88 m Meereshöhe in den Rhein.

Let’s continue with some information about the area. We are planning to cycle past the source of the Neckar.
The Neckar is a tributary of the Rhine in Germany, 362 km long – with the longer upper reaches of the Eschach at 380 km – which drains the central part of Baden-Württemberg with its catchment area of approximately 14,000 km². At its mouth, an average of 145 m³/s flows out. Hydrologically, the Neckar is thus the fifth largest tributary of the Rhine after the Aare, Meuse, Moselle and Main, and the twelfth largest river in Germany in terms of length and water flow.
The Neckar rises on the Baar near Villingen-Schwenningen at 705 m above sea level. It initially flows northeast between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb, then northwest from the ‘Neckarknie’ near Plochingen to the north through the conurbations of Stuttgart and Heilbronn, then west from Eberbach in the Odenwald to Heidelberg and finally northwest in the Upper Rhine Plain to Mannheim. There it flows into the Rhine at 88 metres above sea level.

Er zijn 24 aanmeldingen binnengekomen voor de tandemontmoeting, dus er zijn nog plaatsen vrij.
We gaan verder met informatie over de omgeving. We zijn van plan om langs de bron van de Neckar te rijden.
De Neckar is een zijrivier van de Rijn in Duitsland met een lengte van 362 km – met de langere bovenloop Eschach van 380 km – die met zijn bijna 14.000 km² grote stroomgebied het centrale deel van Baden-Württemberg afwatert. Bij de monding stroomt gemiddeld 145 m³/s weg. Hydrologisch gezien is de Neckar daarmee na de Aare, Maas, Moezel en Main de vijfde grootste zijrivier van de Rijn en qua lengte en waterafvoer de twaalfde grootste rivier van Duitsland.
De Neckar ontspringt op de Baar bij Villingen-Schwenningen op 705 m boven zeeniveau. Eerst stroomt hij tussen het Zwarte Woud en de Schwäbische Alb in noordoostelijke richting, vanaf de “Neckarknie” bij Plochingen in noordwestelijke tot noordelijke richting door de agglomeraties Stuttgart en Heilbronn, vervolgens vanaf Eberbach in het Odenwald in westelijke richting naar Heidelberg en ten slotte in de Oberrheinische Tiefebene in noordwestelijke richting naar Mannheim. Daar mondt hij op 88 m boven zeeniveau uit in de Rijn.
